Host a website was created as a resource for those looking to get a website hosted either for the first time or on a new server. Hopefully I can give you some information today that will help you make an easy decision on how you should set up your website, specifically for those first timers to web development. I am guessing that if you do not have hosting yet, than you probably do not have a website yet either. In order to do that the first thing that you will need is a domain name which you can register through various different domain brokers. This should not cost more than ten bucks if you get the name for a year.

Picking your domain can be hard sometimes, but always think about the number one thing your domain needs to convey to your audience. The name should be something that is unique and describes your business, if it is for a business, or website if it describes a website. Perhaps you are doing affiliate marketing and will want to pick a domain that has some keywords in it to be optimized for search engines.

Once your domain is purchased, you will need to think about hosting your website. This is not as complicated as it sounds if you are new to this. If you plan on creating more than this one website you will want to get an unlimited hosting plan. These are usually fairly cheap (around $10/month) and allow you to host as many websites as you would like on that one account. I use Hostgator if I ever want to host a website that I want to build. I use this company because they have WordPress setup in the control panel for all of your websites. For those of you who do not know, WordPress is a blogging platform that allows anyone to create a new website very easily, even with no experience. I use WordPress for all of my websites, and I would suggest you do the same.

Once you have set up your hosting account you will need to do a few things in order to start building your new site. First, you will need to transfer the domain over to the hosting provider by changing the name servers. You will then go to your host account and add the new domain in the control panel. This is very easy to do and only takes a few minutes.

You are now ready to begin building the website. If you know html you are good to go. If you are new to web design I would suggest going one step further and installing WordPress on the domain in your control panel. This will allow anyone with zero experience to get started.

Hopefully, you have a better understanding of how to Host a Website and are well on your way to getting your site up and running.
